Cat-ching up with the Kit and Kaboodle!

I have been a bad, bad blogger. Life caught up with me, I slowed down with my posting and I got writer's block.

Or was it stage fright?

Good old fashioned procrastination?

Regardless...

Or irregardless!!! I stopped writing and posting. And this must stop. Or start. Or.....

Gah! Just get something down on paper.

Here we go!

We are a three pup house.

Jamboree, Mama Jalapeño and Joseppe

Last I wrote we were down to five puppies. That weekend a lovely young couple from Oahu flew in to meet Lite Green Jelly Bean. Sunday they flew home with her and our lil Lite Green became Jolene Jelly Bean.

I'm ready to check out the pup-ulated island!

Forty winks to get me ready for my trip.

Necessary beauty sleep!

And getting some last minute chewing in.

I'll miss the Big Island.

And we will miss you, Jolene Jelly Bean!

Jolene inherited my Indian eyes!

One last cuddle...

Los ojos - profundos y misteriosos...

Lil Ms. Blue and Captain Black also headed home that weekend.

Getting some last minutes of puppy love.

Lil Ms. Blue will miss splashing in her water bowl!

I'm still clean. It's only water!
And just hanging on the lanai with her peeps.

The lanai will not be the same without me.

The pups hung out together that morning for the last time.

Who is leaving? When? Why?

Black and Blue together never looked so good....

Double the cute.

They were a little concerned they would miss the other puppies.  I did tell them about this blog.

But I don't know how to read!

Your daddy will show you pictures Lil Ms. Blue.

Oh, OK. I feel a tad bit better!

I will still miss everyone though.

Lil Ms. Blue feelin a lit blue....

Last afternoon nap together.

It's time to go!

Wait. What? Now? So soon?

We don't have to like it but we know we will!

Good bye kisses!

And then we were three.

There's a lot more room around here.

Plus our two kittens.

We approve of this change. Nine was too many!

Jamboree is still a sweetie.

That's what she says, anyways!

While Joseppe stays busy getting dirty crawling under the jeep.

The bottom of the jeep is cleaner!

And life in La Casita Verde continues.

We're pretty used to each other....

There's a lot more room to chase tail...

Got it!

And to just hang out.

Or pointedly ignore....

And everyone is happy.

Sissy-PUSS-Puss enjoys the afternoon sun.
And relaxed.

Turtle being Turtle.

The puppies know how to sit and follow, sit and follow.

Puppy math: sitting = treats!

The kittens discovered the toilet paper.

They always do!

Two puppies came back and left again. More on that next time! Plus birthing videos. Kittens escaping whelping box videos. Pups going to the vet and getting baths photos and videos and lots of other cute fun stuff!

Pups in the Wind and Other Hawaiian Oddities.

It is windy on the Big Island.

Really windy, at times. And we are on Kohala Mountain, so sometimes the makani can take over our lives as we batten down the hatches, the puppies and the kittens.

Bad hair day for both of us!

The makani affects all of your senses, not just your hair. You can hear its live presence in this video of puppies running:

When the wind finally dies down, we all venture back on the lanai.

Loves me some coconut!

The puppies discovered my plants and a couple of them picked my peppers. Here Lani discovers she has taste buds. Her taste buds discover the pepper she picked is spicy!

Hmmmm.....I'm not too sure what to make of this.

Here is a video where you can see the entire experience:

Lil Blue didn't like the pepper either. She prefers to soak her tootsies in the
water bowl.

That hot lava rock is rough on my puppy pads...

Where'd the water go?

The puppies do enjoy that water bowl. Here we see them belly up to it for a long drink.

Jammy is sweet the way she lets her sibling in for a sip.

Here the puppies hang on the lanai together, hoping it is close to dinner time!

I can just taste that kibble!

They spend some time exploring the fields. How many puppies do you see?

Keep lookin! There's more than you think!

And then, of course, there is the necessary resting!

These puppy toes are for you, lil sis!

And chewing....

I feel like a farmer with this grass between my teeth!

And cuddling....

Lil' babies are getting as big as me!

And playing collectively with their first chew stick. Thank you Auntie Aimee!

I promised oddities and in case I didn't deliver, here is the oddest of the oddities of the week.

Hawaiian drive through pizza, now with a dine in option!
